Forex prop firms with 3-step challenges
Forex: a three-step challenge spreads the evaluation over three phases, each with its own profit target. The target in each phase tends to be lower than in one- or two-step programs, and the fee can be lower too, but you have to stay within the loss limits for longer before you are funded. The programs below use three evaluation phases.

How a three-step challenge works
Each phase works like a small evaluation: reach the target, stay inside the daily and maximum loss limits, and meet any minimum day count. Passing one phase opens the next, and passing the third leads to a funded account. Because the total target is split three ways, the gain you need in any single phase is usually modest.
The trade-off is exposure. More phases mean more trading days under evaluation rules, more chances for one bad session to end the attempt, and a longer wait before the first payout. Firms often pair the lower targets with a smaller maximum loss or a tighter daily limit, so lower targets do not always mean an easier path.
Before buying, add up all three targets and compare the total with the maximum loss, check whether the limits reset at each phase, and see whether a time limit applies to any phase. Also check how long the firm takes to review each phase, since waiting between phases adds to the total time to funding.
Frequently asked questions
Why would I choose a three-step challenge?
Lower targets per phase and, on some programs, a lower fee can suit traders with a slow, steady approach who prefer small objectives over one large target. Traders who want a quick route to a payout may find the extra phases a drawback.
Are three-step challenges common?
They are less common than one- and two-step programs and are mostly offered by forex and CFD firms. Futures firms mostly use single-phase evaluations.
Do I keep the profit made during the evaluation phases?
Generally no. Evaluation accounts are for assessment, and payouts start once you trade the funded account under its payout rules. A few programs pay a share of evaluation profit after you are funded, so check the payout terms.
