ATFunded, the prop trading unit of CFD broker ATFX, paused operations in June 2026 for a review of the business and said it would refund active accounts and pay eligible funded traders.

What happened

ATFunded was the prop trading business of ATFX, a CFD broker group run from Hong Kong, Dubai and London. ATFX described it as a two-phase evaluation programme that let traders take payouts directly or move them into an ATFX brokerage account. Finance Magnates reported that the business launched in October 2024.

In early June 2026 ATFunded posted a notice on its website saying it had decided to pause operations while it carried out a full review of the business. The notice said the company was assessing whether its current models were sustainable over the long term and was looking at alternative models. Trading on its MetaTrader 5 accounts was set to close-only, and traders were told to close all positions by 1pm EST on the day of the notice.

The pause followed leadership changes. Finance Magnates and FX News Group reported that chief executive Joshua Dentrinos had left earlier in 2026, a few months after joining, and FX News Group reported that general manager Connor Mccourt, who had taken over from him, had also stepped down. Mccourt said publicly that the team would handle the transition professionally and meet its commitments to traders. Finance Magnates noted that ATFX is privately held and does not publish results for its prop unit.

Timeline

  • October 2024: ATFunded launches, according to Finance Magnates.
  • Early 2026: Chief executive Joshua Dentrinos leaves.
  • Early June 2026: ATFunded announces a pause and a full business review; MT5 accounts move to close-only.
  • 6 to 7 June 2026: Finance Magnates and FX News Group report the suspension and the departure of the general manager.

What it meant for traders

According to the notice on the ATFunded website:

  • Customers with active accounts would receive a full refund of their purchase.
  • Funded traders with eligible profits would receive payouts under the company’s rules.
  • Open trades had to be closed the same day, as accounts were moved to close-only.
  • Details on timing and process would be sent to clients directly in the following days.

The notice did not give a date for refunds or payouts, and the sources listed here do not confirm when they were completed.

Current status

As of October 2026 the ATFunded website still shows the pause notice. The company has not announced a restart date or a replacement model in the sources listed here.
