What traders in Germany should check

Firms restrict countries for reasons such as sanctions and compliance screening, national and European rules on how financial products are offered to retail customers, and limits from payment providers. A firm that serves Germany may still offer different programs or platforms there, so read the terms for the program you want.

Some firms price in euros, but many charge in US dollars, so a euro card can add a conversion margin or a foreign transaction fee. Some firms accept crypto. Payouts commonly arrive by bank transfer, which may be a SEPA transfer where the firm or its payout partner pays in euros, or by crypto or a payroll or contractor platform.

Expect an identity check before a funded account or first payout, usually photo ID and a recent proof of address. Check local rules and the tax treatment of payouts with a qualified adviser before you start, as this site does not give legal or tax advice.

Frequently asked questions

Do prop firms charge traders in Germany in euros?

Some do, but many price in US dollars. If you pay in dollars with a euro card, your bank may convert the payment and add a fee, so check the final charge.

How do traders in Germany receive payouts?

Common routes are bank transfer, crypto and payroll or contractor platforms. If the firm pays in dollars, compare what you receive after conversion to euros on each route.

Who can explain the tax treatment of payouts in Germany?

A qualified tax adviser. Treatment depends on your circumstances, and this site does not give tax advice, so ask before you receive your first payout.
