Overview
Take Profit Trader (TakeProfitTrader LLC) is a futures prop firm based in Windermere, Florida, that its own blog dates to 2021; James Sixsmith is the founder and CEO. Traders pay a monthly subscription for a single-phase Trading Test in sizes from $25K to $150K and pay a $130 activation fee to open the simulated PRO account after passing. PRO accounts can withdraw from the first day once a buffer equal to the drawdown is built, at an 80% split. Traders invited to PRO+ trade a live account through Tradovate at a 90% split. Orders run on CQG or Rithmic data feeds, and automated trading is not allowed.

Target ÷ loss is the total profit target divided by the max loss limit. Lower means less profit is needed for each unit of risk. Prices are list prices before discounts. Per $100K converts EUR and GBP at a fixed rate for ranking only.

Minimum trading days

Time limit
None; the subscription renews monthly until the test is passed or cancelled
The test drawdown trails the highest end-of-day balance. The PRO account uses the same dollar amount but trails intraday peaks, including open profit. The type shown is the PRO (funded) model, as the firm's journey table lists it. Both stop trailing once they reach the starting balance.
Payouts: daily from the first PRO day, once the balance exceeds the starting balance plus the drawdown amount (for example $52,000 on a 50K account). There is no minimum number of profitable days, no consistency rule and no maximum withdrawal in PRO.
The subscription is charged monthly until the test is passed or cancelled; there are no recurring fees on PRO accounts. A $130 one-time activation fee is charged to open each PRO account.
If the best day is 50% or more of total profit, the test is not failed; the profit goal rises until the best day falls under half of the total.
The homepage shows the daily loss limit as removed, so no daily limit applies in the test or PRO.
Contract limits are the same in the test and PRO, with no scaling plan.
Test resets cost $79, $99, $139, $169 or $199 by size and do not change the renewal date. A PRO account can be reset up to three times for $449 to $1,499 by size.
PRO+ is a live account at Tradovate with a 90% split, an end-of-day trailing drawdown that starts at $0, no buffer and broker commission rates. While it is active, $5,000 of PRO profit is held back.
PRO accounts must close positions from 1 minute before to 1 minute after FOMC statements, NFP and CPI; the test has no news rule.
Trading rules
What Take Profit Trader lets you do on its accounts, taken from its rules and FAQ pages.
News trading
Allowed with limits
PRO and PRO+ accounts must have no open positions or orders from 1 minute before to 1 minute after FOMC statements, Non-Farm Payrolls and CPI. Test accounts have no news rule.
Expert advisors
Not allowed
Bots, algorithms and other automated execution are prohibited on all accounts; every trade must be placed manually.
Copy trading
Allowed with limits
Approved trade copiers (such as Tradesyncer or platform-native copiers) may be used only across accounts the trader owns and controls; copying between different people is prohibited.
Overnight holding
Not allowed
Positions cannot be carried into the next trading day; open positions are closed automatically at 4:55 PM ET.
Weekend holding
Not allowed
Positions must be flat at the end of each trading day, so none can be held over the weekend.
Rules to read before you buy
Holding opposite positions in the same or closely related products (such as ES and MES) across any accounts under the same control is prohibited and leads to liquidation and loss of profit.
Trading is allowed from 6 PM to 5 PM ET; if a product closes earlier, the position must be closed before that product's close.
Positions must be exited before a CME limit-up or limit-down level is hit, or the PRO account is lost.
Up to five funded (PRO or PRO+) accounts can be active at once, and at most 10 passed tests can be activated in any 30-day window. Test accounts are unlimited.
Accessing an account or market data from a restricted country, including through a VPN, leads to account restriction.
Under the Sustainable Trading Policy, traders who mostly use maximum size or exploit simulated fills face closer review, and PRO+ traders may be moved to PRO+ Development accounts with smaller size, a soft daily loss limit and a tighter drawdown.
Inactivity: PRO and PRO+ accounts must trade at least one day per calendar week (Sunday to Friday) to stay active.
How the drawdown works
Intraday trailing (Trading Test)
The loss limit follows your highest intraday equity in real time, including open profit that you later give back.
Consistency rules
Trading Test
Best day must be under 50% of total profit in the test; none in PRO
80% on PRO (simulated) accounts and 90% on PRO+ live accounts.
How often
Daily from the first PRO trading day, with no payout windows, as long as the balance stays above the buffer.
First payout
Day one of the PRO account, once profit exceeds the buffer equal to the drawdown amount.
Minimum withdrawal
No minimum withdrawal is stated; wallet withdrawals of $250 or less carry a $50 fee.
Profit is first moved from the PRO account to the TPT wallet (automated for most Tradovate PRO accounts), then paid out from the wallet after a compliance review of up to 12 business hours.
US bank accounts are paid through Plaid in real time or by ACH; international traders and LLCs are paid through PayPal or Wise.
PRO+ accounts have no buffer requirement.
After a PRO account is closed, 50% of the buffer amount can be withdrawn.
The bank or PayPal account must belong to the registered trader, and a tax form is signed before the first wallet withdrawal.
maxAllocation is five $150K funded accounts, the firm's limit on active PRO and PRO+ accounts.
Ways to get paid
ACH
PayPal
Wise
Scaling plan
There is no scaling plan; contract limits stay the same from the test to PRO. Consistent PRO traders can be invited to a live PRO+ account.
PRO+ invitations are at the firm's discretion after a review of consistency, risk management and execution.
A PRO+ account starts at $0 with an end-of-day trailing drawdown equal to the original PRO drawdown, stopping at $0.
PRO+ Development accounts use reduced contracts (1 to 5 minis by size), a soft daily loss limit and a smaller drawdown, and trigger a 30-day purchase cooldown if net live losses reach $10,000.
