What Tradovate is

Tradovate is a futures trading platform and brokerage that is now part of the same group as NinjaTrader. Because it is cloud-based, your workspaces, charts and settings are stored online and follow you between the web app, the desktop app and the mobile apps for iOS and Android.

It focuses on futures and offers charting, a depth of market ladder for placing and moving orders, bracket orders that attach a stop loss and profit target, and a replay tool for practising on past market data. Tradovate accounts can also be connected to TradingView, which lets you place orders from TradingView charts.

Before buying, check whether the firm gives you Tradovate directly or uses it as the connection behind another platform, whether real-time data for the exchanges you trade is included, and whether you can use TradingView with your account. Also check the firm's rules on automated trading if you plan to use Tradovate's API or outside tools.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Tradovate on my phone?

Yes. Tradovate has mobile apps for iOS and Android that use the same cloud account as the web and desktop versions, so positions and settings stay in sync. Make sure you know how to close positions quickly on mobile before relying on it.

Can I trade my Tradovate prop account from TradingView?

Often yes, as Tradovate accounts can be linked to TradingView. Some firms allow this and some do not, and TradingView may need a paid plan or a data subscription for real-time futures prices. Check both before you buy.

Is Tradovate only for futures?

Yes. Tradovate is built for exchange-traded futures, so it appears at futures prop firms rather than at forex or crypto firms. Check which contracts the firm allows on your account.
