NinjaTrader is a futures trading platform from a US company of the same name that also runs a futures brokerage. Its flagship product is a Windows desktop application with detailed charting, a price ladder for order entry and tools for replaying past market data. Web and mobile versions are also available.
It is built for futures traders who want close control over their orders. ATM strategies attach preset stop loss and profit target brackets to each entry, Chart Trader lets you place and move orders on the chart, and add-on order flow tools show volume and market depth. Strategies and indicators can be written in NinjaScript, which is based on C#.
At a prop firm, NinjaTrader usually connects through a data and order routing service such as Rithmic or through a brokerage connection the firm arranges, and some features require a licence.
